Thilo Reuther
Thilo Reuther was born 1964 in Jülich. He studied Stage Design 1985-1999 at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin with Achim Freyer and finished his study as his master-class student. Since 1994, he has been working freelance in stage and light design for opera, theatre and dance productions. Thilo Reuther works with directors such as Sebastian Baumgarten, Karin Henkel, Hasko Weber, Hermann Schmidt-Rahmer, Michael Talke, Linus Tunström and with choreographers such as Sasha Waltz and Anna Huber in Germany and worldwide. Thilo Reuther gives lectures on stage and light design at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch and at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee in Berlin. In 2013, as well as in 2008, Thilo Reuther was nominated for the German theatre prize DER FAUST in the category stage design. In 2013 the production »Heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe« (Schauspielhaus Zürich, Direction: Sebastian Baumgarten), where he created the stage design, was invited to the Theatertreffen in Berlin. Among other projects, he has collaborated with Sasha Waltz on the productions of »Dido & Aeneas«, »Medea« and »Sacre«, which were shown at the Staatsoper Berlin. 2014 nominated for the Russian Theatre Award »Golden Mask« with the lighting design for »Sacre«.
