Davide Di Pretoro
Born in 1983 in Colleferro (Rome) he studied ballet and contemporary dance in Rome at the National Dance Academy and Balletto di Roma. In 2002 he won a scholarship to study at the Cunningham Dance School in New York City. Between 2003 and 2020 he worked across Europe, as a dance artist, with many established companies and choreographers such as Ballet Preljocaj (France), Itzik Galili (The Netherlands), Company Wayne McGregor (UK), Andonis Foniadakis (Greece), Virgilio Sieni (Italy), Sasha Waltz & Guests (Germany), amongst others. Davide joined the Paris Opera Ballet in 2021 as Ballet Master of the contemporary repertoire. He now works as a re-stager of Wayne McGregor’s work, as a performer and rehearsal director for Sasha Waltz & Guests and L-E-V by Sharon Eyal | Gai Behar. He’s also a guest teacher in many companies, academies and professional dance programs such as London Contemporary Dance School, Trinity Laban, Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Rosella Hightower, Scuola del Balletto di Roma, CODARTS Rotterdam, Contemporary Dance School Hamburg, Hong Kong Dance Company, Sydney Dance Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, TISCH at NYU, Springboard Danse Montréal, SEAD-Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, and Göteborgsoperans Danskompani.
