Sasha Waltz in dialogue with Wolfgang Laib

A dance and music improvisation at the exhibition on Wolfgang Laib with Sasha Waltz & Guests

In the exhibition »Wolfgang Laib. The Beginning of Something Else«, the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart presents works from each of the artist’s creative phases, who has been posing questions about our being and actions as part of fragile living habitats in his thinking and art since the late 1970s. Wolfgang Laib creates his subtle works in an exchange with the natural environment and in tune with the seasons.

On the first weekend in November, Sasha Waltz and dancers of Sasha Waltz & Guests will enter into dialogue with the artworks at various stations within the exhibition, thus opening up new, alternative perspectives for the audience. The bodies of the dancers themselves can also become sculptures, stop time, freeze, and then slowly, almost imperceptibly, come to life again. The project will be musically accompanied by Ayumi Paul, with whom Sasha Waltz has worked repeatedly since the project »Dialoge 09 – MAXXI«.
