Open Studio: Stage #28
November 7, 7pm
Studio A, Radialsystem
What’s currently happening on Berlin’s dance scene? »Open Studio: Stage« offers a glimpse behind the scenes. Once a month, on a Saturday evening, artists from the worlds of dance, performance and music showcase what they’re currently working on at the Sasha Waltz & Guests studio: an improvisation, a work in progress or a short piece. On 7 November, the audience will once again have the chance to experience an evening featuring a wide variety of styles and exciting new ideas. For artists, »Open Studio: Stage« offers a place to showcase unfinished work or try out ideas still in the making, encounter different approaches and network. Each evening concludes with a joint improvisation involving everyone taking part. To round off the evening, the audience and artists have the chance to engage in conversation with one another.
CoinciDance with Paola Di Bella
November 8, 4:30 - 6:30pm
Studio A, Radialsystem
On Sunday 8 November, the series continues with a new instalment of »CoinciDance« – this time featuring performer Paola Di Bella and live music by Andrea Junge. »CoinciDance« combines the experimental spirit of our format »Open Studio: Jam« with a focus on instant composition in groups. For each of these 2-hour-long sessions we invite different dancers and choreographers that have expertise in collective improvisation to share their practices and techniques with a group of experienced dancers, guide the beginning of the jam, and let the group play with the tools learned. The workshops are accompanied by live music, to create a dialogue between sound and movement.
Workshop Fee: 10 €
This unique experience is designed for experienced and professional dancers, as we’ll be exploring advanced techniques and collaborating at a high level. To sign up, please send an email to laszlo@sashawaltz.de expressing your interest in joining the workshop.
