»Kastanie Sharing« - a workshop week by dancers for dancers
With »Kastanie Sharing«, Sasha Waltz & Guests invites dancers of all backgrounds from Berlin to a week of movement, creative exchange, and shared artistic exploration in our Studio at Kastanienallee.
From November 9 to 15, 2026 @Studio Kastanie
For the past two years, Studio Kastanie has become a second rehearsal space for Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin. It is a place where artists from the Berlin dance scene come to rehearse, research, experiment and develop their work. »Kastanie Sharing« now brings these people together: Over a full week, dancers, choreographers, teachers and artists from other fields who have worked at Studio Kastanie share what they have been exploring, with each other and with you.
The idea of sharing lies at the heart of this gathering. We understand it in a broad sense: sharing movement practices, tools and methods, but also knowledge, experience and time. Instead of presenting finished results, »Kastanie Sharing« is about open exchange, curiosity and learning from one another.
It is also a networking event by dancers, for dancers. We invite professional and experienced dancers of all backgrounds to come together, exchange ideas and share experiences. Meet new colleagues, reconnect with familiar faces and build connections that last beyond your time at Studio Kastanie.
The programme brings together body-based, reflective and social formats. You’re welcome to join individual sessions or take part in the full programme. Start your day with early morning meditation, explore playful and experimental workshops – from drag as a form of expression to improvisation with body and voice – or take time for rest, care and recovery through guided massage and deep listening practices.
The programme also includes a political networking workshop for dancers: a space to discuss the political and structural realities of working in dance, share experiences and connect with colleagues around common concerns.
