Sasha Waltz & Guests is an internationally active dance company and a medium-sized cultural organisation based in Berlin. In 2023, we celebrated our 30th anniversary. We receive funding from the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion, whilst generating a significant proportion of our own revenue.
Through the continuous development of pioneering productions and the co-founding of significant venues such as Sophiensæle (1996) and Radialsystem (2006), Sasha Waltz & Guests occupies an important position within Berlin’s cultural landscape and maintains long-term strategic partnerships with other cultural institutions.
Our practical work is characterised by an explicitly interdisciplinary approach – the term »Guests« encompasses diverse partners from architecture, visual arts, design, digital media, film, literature, fashion, music, opera, dance and theatre, as well as politics, academia and business. We see ourselves as hosts – our broad audience is at the heart of all our activities.
In addition to artistic productions, we are actively involved in exemplary social and educational projects to develop a growing community.
- General organisational and administrative tasks within the administration department
- Assisting with financial planning, budgeting and financial control
- Preparation of business plans, quarterly reports and annual accounts
- Management of grant funding and assistance with expenditure reports
- Contract management and administrative support for projects and guest performances
- HR administrative tasks
- Communication with funding bodies, partner institutions and external service providers
- Maintenance and further development of administrative processes and data structures
- A completed vocational training programme or degree in administration, cultural management, business administration, or comparable professional experience, preferably in the arts and culture sector
- Professional experience in an administrative or commercial role
- The ability to work independently, in a structured and solution-oriented manner
- Strong communication skills and a passion for cross-departmental collaboration
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and an affinity for data management and maintenance
- Very good written and spoken German, as well as good English skills
- Interest in and enthusiasm for dance, art and culture
- Sensitivity to artistic processes and working in a small team with flat hierarchies
