Open Studio weekend in April

On 11 and 12 April, our Open Studio weekend enters its next phase: on 11 April, young dancers will once again have the opportunity to offer a glimpse into their current work at »Open Studio: Stage #22«. On 12 April, the programme continues with the 13th edition of »CoinciDance«, led by Neus Montané, before our popular »Open Studio: Jam« brings the weekend to a close.

On Saturday, April 11, we showcase once again with »Open Studio: Stage #22« the creative power of Berlin's vibrant dance and performance scene. Performing artists present short pieces, works in progress or improvisations to a live audience – solo, in duets or in groups.

On Sunday, April 12, we will continue the weekend with a double feature: »CoinciDance #13« and an »Open Studio: Jam«.

»CoinciDance« combines the experimental spirit of our format »Open Studio:Jam« with a focus on instant composition in groups. For each of these 2-hour-long sessions we invite different dancers and choreographers that have expertise in collective improvisation to share their practices and techniques with a group of experienced dancers, guide the beginning of the jam, and let the group play with the tools learned. We are happy that this session will be led by Neus Montané.

Workshop Fee: 10€

This unique experience is designed for experienced and professional dancers, as we’ll be exploring advanced techniques and collaborating at a high level. To sign up, please send an email to laszlo@sashawaltz.de.

Every month, the project »Open Studio: Jam« (formerly »OPEN

STUDIO«) by Sasha Waltz & Guests invites artists of all disciplines

into the company’s Studio on the 5th floor at Berlin’s Radialsystem for a

collective session of free improvisation (2 hours). Artists from Berlin

and beyond, experienced or newcomers, from the creative disciplines of

dance, music, visual art, drama, singing, philosophy, etc. can join in

an open process without registration and at any point of time. »Open

Studio: Jam« is a space to meet – it provides a free environment for an

inclusive creative practice, for the exchange of all different forms of

artistic knowledge, for collective research and creation and the

exploration of new perspectives.
