Anastasia Kobekina & Sasha Waltz BACH CELLO DANCE - Funkhaus Berlin

On 21 and 22 March 2026, two outstanding artists will meet at the Funkhaus Berlin in an extraordinary dialogue of music and dance: Anastasia Kobekina, the most important cellist of her generation, and the internationally renowned choreographer Sasha Waltz, who is returning to the stage as a dancer for the first time in many years.

At the heart of this unique encounter, in the spirit of Sasha Waltz's well-known dialogue projects between music, dance and space, are Johann Sebastian Bach's cello suites – an important new recording of the six cello suites by Anastasia Kobekina has just been released. The two artists explore Bach's music with cello and body in an experimental spirit. In a sensitive interplay, Anastasia Kobekina and Sasha Waltz meet live at the Funkhaus Berlin at the beginning of spring in an intimate dance that allows the emotionality of Bach's music to be experienced in a whole new way.
