»In C« at Dresdner Musikfestspielen with The Young Gods
We are guests at the Dresden Music Festival, where we will perform »In C« together with »The Young Gods« on 23 May.
The Dresden Music Festival is one of the most renowned classical music festivals in Europe, presenting a diverse programme of international acts on Dresden's stages every summer.
Sasha Waltz's colourful exploration of the world of minimal music, »In C«, is based on Terry Riley's revolutionary and open-ended composition of the same name. Together with 10 dancers, the choreographer developed choreographic material in spring 2021 that follows a similarly variable structure, leaving room for ever new variations. »In C« is an experimental, constantly evolving project that, after a workshop format and short performances at the 11th Long Night of Dresden Theatre, will now be seen again in the eastern German city a few weeks later. We are particularly pleased to present this evening together with the Swiss post-industrial band »The Young Gods«, with whom we have already staged »In C« several times.
