In this dance class Enrico Paglialunga explores an innovative approach that blends contemporary floorwork techniques with the lively swing dances of the 1920s and 1930s. Drawing from his own dance education, he incorporates elements of Lindy Hop and Charleston — dances known for their energetic, joyful expressions and strong sense of community. These aspects of swing dance, with their emphasis on fun, group interaction, and powerful energy, deeply inspire his contemporary teaching practice.
Since 2020, Enrico has developed a class that fuses contemporary and swing dance styles, using the principles of the Flying Low technique and a strong focus on musicality. The class offers an energetic, dynamic, and safely progressive training experience, alternating between structured exercises and improvisational tasks. After focusing on specific movement mechanics and short sequences, students progress into a more complex, choreographic vocabulary. The class focuses on exploring the relationship between the floor, space, and musical composition while also working on skills such as speed, stamina, coordination, and precision in execution. Above all, the instructor emphasizes creating a supportive and respectful environment, where all students have equal opportunities to learn, grow, and take on challenges, with encouragement and guidance every step of the way.
