Also in 2025, the lack of clarity about the cuts in the cultural sector
continues: the cultural and main committees are still negotiating the
cuts decided at the end of 2024. And in Berlin's cultural scene, there
is still great uncertainty. In response, the platform #BerlinIsCulture has created a petition you can sign, to stand up for a diverse Berlin cultural landscape:
The #BerlinIsCulture alliance is calling on all social actors in the city to take joint action: Cultural actors, partners from politics, social affairs, business and education, urban society and, last but not least, the public - we are all called upon. Because culture thrives on cooperation. And it now needs a strong, joint signal:
For the preservation of an open, lively, courageous and socially acceptable cultural city of Berlin!
