Training: »Dance Dance Dance!« with Peeps

From traditional African movements to House dance basics mixed with different energies, Peeps’ class is a mix of dance work-play and personal dance development.

In Peeps’ workshop you will learn the basic steps of House, footwork, using space and try out ways of expressing yourself through rhythmic sequences and improvisation. This gives you a solid basis for moving, grooving and dancing freely to the music.

This workshop is structured like a journey, a journey where everyone can (re)discover, and try out new ways to move. No special dance background is required. We will get down to the basics, learn fundamentals and set off on a dance exploration – a transcendental, energetic and special experience for all of us.

Biography:

Peeps is born in Cameroon, he got exposed to the art of HipHop and House dance in Paris, where he grew up, in the early 2000s. Later in New York City he took those skills to the next level and also learned Jazz and Tap dance for a couple of years. The blending of African moves and the analysis of movement to his dance gave him his unique style and urban twist that led him to win dance competitions internationally, judge dance battles worldwide, and teach his craft on all continents. He is a dance coach/choreographer in prestigious academies such as the Flying Steps Academy in Berlin, ImPulsTanz, SEAD or Jefta Van Dinther (Volta). After the successful collaboration as a dance performer with Ian Kaler on Incipient Futures in 2016/17, followed a new collaboration with Ian Kaler (director) for »On the Cusp« for the renowned Swedish Cullberg Ballet, which premiered at Tanzquartier Vienna mid January 2019 and for which Peeps was the assistant choreographer.
