Training: »In Movement« with Blenard Azizaj

This class explores the creative synergy between individuality and togetherness. Through improvisation and various movement tasks, participants will transform personal life experiences into artistic expression. We’ll delve into the physicality and intensity of everyday actions, reimagining them to build a shared narrative that culminates in a choreographic work.

Accessibility note:

The class will be conducted in English. Partnering with physical contact, and a variety of music will enhance the experience. We'll focus on coordination exercises, memorizing movement phrases, and techniques to improve improvisation skills.

Biography:

Blenard Azizaj was born in Albania. He studied at the National State School of Dance in Greece, where he graduated as a dancer, dance pedagogue and choreographer. He has worked and collaborated with various companies around Europe such as Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin, the Akram Khan Company in London and Cie Linga in Lausanne. His career has taken him around the globe, touring and performing at international dance festivals. Furthermore, he works as a choreographer and dance teacher, teaching his »dance dialect« in dance companies, dance & theatre academies and several studios around the world. His latest choreographic work includes »NoBody's Land«, »Fleeting Feathers«, »Walls«, »In the Beginning«, »Sacred Scars«, »Human«, »The Great Migration«, »GJURMËT. A Tear And A Smile«, »Climax«, »kUlmi«, and »The Dawn Of Time, Escaping To Return«.
