»In C« comes to India

UPDATE: On 29 April 2024, International Dance Day, "In C" opened the fifteenth Prayatna Film & Theatre Festival. 16 dancers from the fields of Kathak, Bharatnatyam and contemporary dance performed the choreography by Sasha Waltz.

In December 2023, the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Pune and the Centre of Contemporary Dance (COCD), in collaboration with Sasha Waltz & Guests, will present a series of performances based around the choreography »In C«  by Sasha Waltz at »The Box« theatre in Puna.

It all starts with a children's dance group - 24 pupils from Sangamner will perform their version of »In C« on 8 December at 7 pm. Two performances with professional dancers will follow on 9 and 10 December, both at 7 pm. To conclude the series of performances, a group consisting of nine senior citizens with Parkinson's disease and five professional dancers will perform eight movement figures from the choreography on 10 December at 10.30 am.

In addition to the performances, there will be an exhibition celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of Sasha Waltz & Guests from 10 to 22 December 2023 at Pune Handmade Papers.
