»Impromptus« in Berlin – and streamed live

In June the choreography »Impromptus« by Sasha Waltz was performed for the first time in Venice at the 13th Biennale Danza in the frame of the Biennale di Venezia. On August 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th the production will come back to Berlin after four years and can be seen at radialsystem. The performance on August 10th will also be streamed live via Facebook, YouTube and this website.

With »Impromptus« (2004) Sasha Waltz for the first time developed a dance piece based on the structure of a classical composition.

The music is performed live on stage and with vocal accompaniment of four »Schubert-Lieder«. The dance like the music in a subtle way creates emotional states between weightless floating and being off balance. In this choreography Sasha Waltz researches the existential questions of the human body with its vulnerability and beauty. Dance at its most riveting, at once unmasking, manipulating, and ultimately exalting in the innumerable aspects that make us human.
