On Saturday, May 30, more than 50 dancers of all ages, styles, and skill levels—professional dancers, dancers with disabilities, up-and-coming talents, and amateurs—took over the courtyard of the National Museum of Oslo in a joint, free open-air performance of »In C«, accompanied by live musical by 14 musicians from the Norwegian Armed Forces Staff Band. The large-scale dance project »In C-Community« was initiated and produced by Nagelhus Schia Productions, which added Sasha Waltz’s choreography to its repertoire as early as 2023, has performed it throughout Norway, and has already danced it multiple times together with Sasha Waltz & Guests.
»In C-Community« is a further development of the project into a larger social format that brings together more than 50 dancers from various companies, youth programs, and actors from the dance field. Here, children, teenagers, professional dancers, dancers with disabilities, and amateurs stand side by side in the same choreographic community. A living work of art in constant flux, a performance as a social experiment.
»In C-Community« will be presented again at Dansens Hus (at Nedre Foss gård) following the performance at the National Museum on June 6 at 2 p.m. Both performances are free and open to the public.
