Berlin, November 2013. One hundred years after the scandalous premiere of »The Rite of Spring« by Vaslav Nijinsky at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, experts from the dance field meet at the conference »Dance over Trenches« to discuss one of the most influential choreographies of the 20th century. The conference is organized by the Federal Cultural Foundation and the Centre for Movement Research at the Freie Universität Berlin.
Jane Pritchard: Treasures from Le Sacre du Printemps
Jane Pritchard is curator of dance for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. With Geoffrey Marsh she curated Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballets Russes,1909-1929 for the V&A. Her presentation »Treasures from Le Sacre du Printemps« introduced us to the costumes and documentation material from the original choreography by Nijinsky.
