Writing workshop for Syrian women
»Women’s tales«

In cooperation with the Syrian women’s magazine »Sayyidat Souria« Sasha Waltz & Guests offers the week before »ZUHÖREN« on four days a first writing workshop for Arabic-speaking women in Berlin. The project »Women’s tales« by »Sayyidat Souria« wants to develop »story telling«-skills for Syrian women within and outside of Syria. In Germany interested women shall get the possibility to communicate their experiences and what they went through by writing. The workshop is led by journalist Mohammad Mallak. The texts will be edited, translated and published on the website of »Sayyidat Souria« and associated sites.

Invitation to Sasha Waltz & Guests’ #13 OPEN STUDIO
Friday, 27th May 2016, 20.00 – 22.00 h, Studio A, 5th floor RADIALSYSTEM V, Holzmarktstr. 33, 10243 Berlin

Since last March 2016, Budapest has adopted the Open Studio format: on the Buda side, where theatres can be hardly found, the Jurányi Incubator House (www.juranyihaz.hu) opened in autumn 2012. The venue is a crucial platform for independent artists and is creating a recognised and successful community of artist and audience under the keyword “collaboration”.
Let's meet them! Their second OPEN STUDIO session in Jurányi Incubator House coincides with the Berlin Open Studio and we want to challenge all participants to meet and improvise across the borders via the internet stream.
NO LIMITS! Looking forward to welcome you once more!

The improvisation will start at 20.00 h, from 19.30 h the studio is open for warm-up and set-up. Registration is not necessary, and people can drop in and out throughout the evening.
